Debra D’Alessandro

Debra D’Alessandro is a sharp-witted, fast-talking, educator and activist with a wide range of entertainment and broadcast experience.

Debra is host and producer of Amazon Country, the nation’s longest running lesbian/feminist music and public affairs radio program, airing at 88.5 WXPN-FM in Philadelphia, and live-streamed on the internet.

An award winning broadcaster, Debra hosted a weekly call-in TV talk show, Philly LIVE: Your Gay and Lesbian Community Connection on WYBE Public Television. On the air from 1999 to 2005, Emmy nominated Philly Live was America’s first live, interactive, gay-themed television program.

She met SheWho’s founder, Otter, and most of the other SheWho members during her seven seasons singing with the Anna Crusis Women’s Choir.

Debra has been bring her original music and comedy to stages throughout the Philadelphia region for over a decade, and is a frequent MC and performer at women’s music festivals across the country.
